It’s no secret that Oklahoma City can get pretty hot during the summer but there are always ways to find some reprieve from the sweltering heat, especially for the little ones. The Oklahoma City Parks and Recreation department has lined up tons of water activities to keep cool here in Oklahoma.
Options for children include swimming lessons, fishing, and a “Summer Splash” event and are available most weeks during the summer. Swimming lessons will be held from July 15th-26th and are held at city pools that include Earlywine Aquatic Center, Will Rogers Aquatic Center, Northeast Pool, and Woodson pools. These lessons are $20. “Hooked on Fishing” will be taking place at Crystal Lake on July 20th from 8-10:30 and is free for youth aged 5-15. Also, check out the 2-day “Summer Splash” program from July 8th – 25th that gives participants an all-around aquatic experience that includes swim lessons and training.
